randomised trials, 11,605 people, one finding: mindfulness programmes lowered anxiety, low mood and stress, and lifted wellbeing, compared with doing nothing.

Mindfulness that fits in your pocket, not on a mountaintop.

A practice sticks when it has a place.

MonkBun is that place: a small, holdable companion with one job, helping you check in, breathe, and come back to your day. It doesn't ping you. It waits until you pick it up.

Most of the people who've already joined told us the same thing: they'd tried mindfulness before, and it didn't stick.

Sleep, focus, breathe.

For the moments that actually need it

MonkBun isn't a library to browse. It's built around moments; here are a few of them.

Two simple ways to notice

This is MonkBun: a small, holdable companion, complete in itself. There's no app to install; pick it up and it works.

The MonkBun device propped upright, its round screen showing the moments wheel with Check in at the centre
Photos show our working prototype. The finished device will look a little different; it's being built right now.

Check in.

Tap the centre and answer honestly: energy high or low, pleasant or not, then the word that fits. A short guided session plays, chosen for that check-in.

Or set an intention.

Turn the wheel to the moment you're in: waking up, winding down, focus, sleep. Listen along, breathe along, or start the focus timer.

Either way, it meets you there.

Your intention, your presence.

Pick the moment; a short session meets you there.

Your state, your ground.

Some days you don't know what you need. Check in, and MonkBun meets you where you are.

Nothing fights for your attention

No feed.

Nothing on MonkBun is designed to keep you on MonkBun.

Complete in itself.

Everything happens on the device, in your hand. Wi-Fi is optional; it's there for the clock and free updates.

Better over the air.

A work in progress, built in the open, and it already gets better over the air.

The day ends. The head doesn't always follow.

MonkBun was built for exactly that moment: something small to hold, a kind voice to follow, and nothing else asking for your attention.

Building MonkBun

MonkBun is for people who know mindfulness helps but can't make it stick, because it's on a phone. That was me. I have ADHD, diagnosed as an adult, and mindfulness is one of the things that really works for me, alongside proper support. So I'm building the thing I wanted: something small I can hold, that asks how I am, plays something short, and lets me get back to my day.
